…it’s been a while!

Yes. You.

We used to talk, and then it went very quiet for a couple of weeks. Weeks turned into months. Before we knew it, a New Year had whooshed by then and everything after until now.

We’re still here and still alive. Sometimes it’s tempting to get swept up with the need to constantly communicate because you can, but we’ve not had much to say in the last few months. There have been some comings and goings and then some more comings again. We’ve been thinking, writing, playing and re-learning to enjoy ourselves. And now we’re thinking about doing all those things we used to like gigs, like recording, and maybe even talking.

Were any of you in this scene last Friday night? If only we could zoom in and spot you sipping your mojito’s along Southbank or drinking in the view from the Shard.

So, yes a new song we have! We are excited to continue working on it over the next few weeks and releasing it to the ears of TIW fans and beyond. Its preview may well be hosted at something similar to this growing trend of House Concerts. How cosy!

Killing three hours in a hotel lobby…

Killing three hours in a hotel lobby waiting in the island of sheepy sound+wet weather (geddit? geddit?) waiting for a late flight home…and I wish I could say it was in the name of rock and roll. But I can see my colleague knit out of the corner of my eye and Public Broadcasting Service are spilling their wonderful concoction of the past and present into my ears. So it’s not far off. Talking of past and present, I watched Cloud Atlas on the way over. Je recommande!

The Infinite Wilds are trippy happy excited to be playing at The Festival Of The Year* on Saturday for Rach and friends joint 30^th Birthday. With the beer at a frugal price of £2 I’m a little concerned about the level of finesse in our music making bones by the time we step up to the festival stage – but that just makes the anticipation even more thrilling.

And then we are heading into the writing zone over the summer months so we can’t wait to reveal the fruits of that loving labour soon!

I can see you, Spring!

I can see you, Spring – you have been well and truly caught. You win the prize though for longest hiding time. Bravo! Oh, hang on – you’re sneaking off again. COME BACK!

So,  over the week we’ve seen pasty legs around the country come out too early to bathe in the fringes of Summer, and so have we been basking in our own sunlight that was still shining from the memories of our EP launch night. I don’t want to repeat myself, but it was just so bloody brilliant! Thank you, again for making it thus. Especially to those that swayed along to “Take Me”, to the roof shattering applauders, the enthusiastic post gig imbibers and the end of the night dance floor MOVERS – you all made it great!

You know when you are on a train at a platform, and you look outside to another train next to you and get the feeling you are moving when in actual fact it was the other train? Within this time post gig, the buzz of the EP launch has tricked me into feeling like that.  But as all you clever clogs will already know, that still train is not what stuff TIW are made on. We want that moving train! So next up we are hoofing it into the hills of Hertfordshire for a private festival which we can’t wait for. And beyond those hills is where we journey to next. It’s gonna be fun so do come along if you’re free. Anyone at our launch can step into the first class carriage.

It’s Almost Here…

Hello you lovely people, and welcome to the weekend. Tomorrow finally sees us release our début EP – Wishing Leaves. And by release, we mean that we got a bunch of CDs pressed up, and are going to play a set and then party drunkenly well into the night. If you’ve been living in a cave (Hello! Pull up a pew and have a cup of tea; there’s a lot to update you on!), it’s at the Heavenly Social and the doors open at 7pm. More details here.

We’re really really proud of the songs and we think you’ll love them all. We’re also really humbled that so many of you are coming along to support us tomorrow – it truly means the world to a little band like us; without you lot, we’re just a bunch of music geeks who drink a lot!

The Weekend is so near – what can you hear?

TIW! BANGING ON! (with violin, guitar and bass accompaniment) ABOUT ….THEIR….SUPPPORT ACT! Ha, fooled you all.

So, we’ve not really told all you lovely people about many of the details of our big PARTY next week. Yus, it will be £5 in (including an EP and badges) and doors open at 7pm. It’s in London’s trendy Heavenly Social. But what else? Well, firstly the aforementioned support. 

I am very happy to tell you that my personal Suffolk ally Cristabel will be performing a small, exclusive set on guitar to get our party off to a quite brilliant start around 8:15. Don’t miss her – she’s brilliant! 

Then, around 8:45, it’s us. We’ll be playing through our EP, but also all the songs you guys know and love. Well, our ones anyway. So if you fancy a little boogie, shuffle, or just a bobbing of the head, make sure you get down in time! We’re very punctual (some of us).

Finally, The Disco. We’re curating and DJing until 1am – who will be the last ones standing with us?!

Once again, doors to this place of wonder within which your favourite Saturday night awaits will open at 7pm. We can’t wait to see you there!                                              Cristabel can’t wait either

Gigs! Gigs! Gigs!

So, a few things to let you lovely people all know while we’re waiting for the sun. We’re looking to book a few gigs in the run the up to our EP Launch Party at the Heavenly Social which are all going to be in or around the London area. We’ve already confirmed one with The Cavendish Arms, but watch this space for (hopefully) a couple more that week.

The Infinite Wilds 13th April @ The Social

We’re also gearing up for what is starting to look like a busy Summer. It’s not very rock’n’roll to plan too far ahead, but thankfully, we’re anything but rock’n’roll anyway. One or two festivals are on the horizon, and we’re hoping to make it a few more. People keep bugging us to play more gigs, so hopefully this will satiate the hunger!

Finally, we retreating, once again, to the country in the next few weeks to write some more songs, walk in muddy fields, and probably get lost in the dark. If you don’t hear from us for a while, send a search party…
